Company Background - Lee
Display West, Inc.
Mark Latino, President, Third Generation in the Display Business
Mark's grandfather, Anthony, founded the the company in New York City in 1914,
making flowers and leaves for the millinery industry.Until 1955, the company still made flowers
by hand, using molds like the ones pictured. Several of these authentic and historic iron molds
are still on display at the company headquarters in Benicia, CA.
In 1950, Mark's father took over the company and started to deal directly with department stores.
Bloomingdales, Bonwitt Teller, and Macys in New York were among the original customers
during this era.
After working with his father in N.Y. for 15 yeas, Mark took over and moved the company to
Northern California. Currently housed in a modern, 44,000 square foot warehouse just
outside of San Francisco,Lee Display West has performed 99% of all the decorative
Christmas work for Macys West for the last 13 years.
The company refurbishes and stores all the X-mass trees for Macys West.
The trim is delivered from the warehouse direct to the stores the day
they need it. Lee has also done holiday display work for Warner Brothers
Retail, the Gap, Williams & Sonoma, Saks, Bloomindales & Foleys in Houston.
